Discover how an original, stylized sculpture is created

Every person is different and original – that’s why I always make original sculptures and sculptures, different from others.

A stylized sculpture creates a beautiful place in your garden, home, office or organization and is a pleasure to the eye. The STAINLESS STEEL is also virtually maintenance-free outside and remains beautiful; it retains its radiance and clarity even after years.

However, a stylized sculpture is not made just like that. I do my very best to capture your stories, your ideas and wishes in the modern stainless steel artwork. I will talk to you about this. I would like to hear what your wishes and ideas are. Together we look at what would fit best as a sculpture or statue.

After our first conversation I make several small designs of the sculpture to be developed.

Sculpture techniques stainless steel

These stylized works of art are made of stainless steel. By processing the STAINLESS STEEL with machines such as a roller and a press brake, intriguing designs and sculptures are created. Stainless steel can be processed and treated in different ways, resulting in completely different effects.

STAINLESS STEEL is an incredibly tough and strong material. It is difficult to edit, but the end result (if you do it right) is incredibly beautiful!

Stainless steel types

You have STAINLESS STEEL in various types and compositions. Some types of stainless steel are affected in an acid or salt environment. The stainless steel 316 type remains good in almost all circumstances. That is why I only use stainless steel 316.

Stylized artworks made of stainless steel

My stylized stainless steel sculptures are welded and sanded and often also polished until they shine and reflect like a mirror. That gives a feeling of perfection and exclusivity. Modern stylized stainless steel sculptures can be very different designs. A stylized stainless steel work of art is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, for private or business applications. The dimensions of stainless steel sculptures can vary from small to monumental.

Stylized sculpture

Stylized painting uses only 2 dimensions and only some paint to express ideas and emotions. Stylized sculpture, on the other hand, needs a lot more; it is much more material. Earthly materials such as stone and metal are literally heavy, unruly and use all three dimensions. All sculpture, whether it concerns stylized works of art or a figurative sculpture, is 3-dimensional. This applies to both wall sculptures and freestanding works of art in the room.

Stylized sculpture

Stylized works of art sometimes have a starting point in the figurative world that is more and more abstracted. But you don’t have to. A stylized sculpture can arise from a sculptor’s idea or an investigation into spatial relationships between different volumes and shapes. In my view, a well-styled sculpture is intriguing; the sculpture is an eye-catcher, and it evokes questions and amazement.

Stylized sculptors

I personally love the work of sculptors from greats like David Smith, Tony Cragg, Constantin Brancusi, and Henry Moore.

How do I design a stylized sculpture on commission?

When designing a stylized image, I always get to know the client first. Over a cup of coffee or tea, I would like to hear your wishes and ideas for the sculpture. Maybe you already know what you want and do you have a concrete idea and design in mind? In that case too, I would like to hear your ideas and help us think about how we can best achieve this.

Stylized sculptures – small examples

If there is a click, I will make a number of sketches and designs for sculpture for you or your organization without obligation. I try to visualize what we discussed in the first conversation in the designs.

Usually there are one or two designs that stand out immediately. Which are immediately preferred. The final design is often a combination of elements from these favorites.

Real-size stylized sculpture

Sometimes I first make a mockup at the request of the client – a test model of the designon scale. This provides an opportunity to see whether the stylized image has the correct size and proportions. You can also see whether the sculpture outside in the garden also has the desired size. In this test model we can still change everything on the spot, so that you can clearly see the various options. Only when the mock-up is completely to your liking do we start work on the final version of the sculpture in the final material.

Step-by-step execution of sculpture

I also prefer to do the realization of the sculpture step by step. In addition, I will keep you constantly informed. For example, I discuss the progress by telephone and you regularly receive photos and videos of the state of affairs. You are welcome to come and see the progress of the sculpture in the workshop.

I make sure that everything happens as agreed. As a matter of principle, I don’t do stress, rush work and “big steps home quickly”.

After all, it must be a beautifully stylized sculpture that you will enjoy for years to come. The statue must remain for a long time and also remain beautiful. That is why it must be done properly and sustainably. Many customers enjoy this way of working.

When the sculpture is finished

You can come to the workshop to see if everything has been done as agreed. And if you are satisfied you can take the sculpture with you from my studio. Or I can come and place the statue with you.

Placing the sculpture

In case you want me to place the sculpture at your place, we will agree on a date. We agree in advance what the compensation will be for this.

Possibilities of a stylized sculpture

As an artist I design original stylized sculptures and works of art from different materials. I usually use stainless steel, but glass, bronze and Corten steel can also be used on request.

I like to use stainless steel for a stylized image because I think it is a beautiful material, but also because this material is durable, sleek, radiant and incredibly strong.

Whatever you choose, an original stylized sculpture is always created. Different and special in shape and material.

Because metal and stainless steel are so easy to work with, a lot is possible. On the website you will see several examples of what is possible. I create each stylized sculpture in-house and only dedicated craftsmen work on it. I have been working with these people for years. Just like me, they are driven to make a sculpture that is as good and beautiful as possible.

Materials

I mostly use these materials for stylized artworks and sculptures

  • Stainless steel 316 (stainless steel)
  • Glass
  • Bronze
  • Corten steel

With these sustainable materials I can realize stylized shapes, creating an original and personal sculpture. I only use the best quality material.

Meet?

I would like to meet you. In an informal conversation, I listen carefully to what you want to say, your ideas and wishes. If there is a click where you feel that I am the right person to make the artwork for you, I will start making a number of designs for you.

Even if you have no idea what a work of art or sculpture should look like for you or your organization, I would be happy to help you! Also look around this website for inspiration.
