Art beautifies the living environment; the space becomes more pleasant to look at and to stay in. This applies both to private individuals or companies who commission an image to be made, as well as to governments and organizations that have more to do with public space.

Both private individuals and companies have a commissioned sculpture made through an art commission.
Works of art and sculptures for various business purposes such as awards and works of art as a corporate gift, for example as a gift for a company anniversary, the acquisition of a company or as parting gift for a colleague.
I design exclusive sculptures – small and large – as an art assignment for organizations, companies and institutions. Larger print runs are possible for commissioned art.
For a birthday, anniversary or special event I like to create a unique and appropriate art as an art assignment
Every situation is different and unique – a commissioned artwork is therefore usually unique, different from others.
Creating a work of art that has been commissioned is a unique addition to your garden, home or business. If done correctly, the artwork will be a feast for the eyes for years to come. Partly because the stainless steel retains its appearance and clarity outside and is virtually maintenance-free.
A commissioned work of art is not made 1,2,3. At least I would like to capture your stories, your ideas and wishes in the artwork. And for that I would like to work with you to see what would fit best as a design. So that a sculpture is created that meets your wishes and expectations. We do this while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in my studio or at your home.
If there is a click after our conversation, I usually make a series of small designs and sketches of the work of art without obligation. If they match your expectations and wishes, I will develop them further. Possibly up to a full-size model ….
Mockup – Full size model
And mockup – a full-size sample provides the opportunity to see if the commissioned artwork has the correct dimensions and proportions. By honoring it outside in the garden, you get a good impression of how the commissioned artwork relates to its surroundings outside.
In this mockup we can still adjust things on the spot, so that the sample is completely to your liking. Only then do we start the real work to make artwork from durable stainless steel. Glass, rusted steel or stone can also be used as a material.
Art commission in progress
I also prefer to carry out your art assignment in consultation and step by step. You regularly receive photos and videos of the execution of the artwork. You are also welcome to come and have a look during the work to see the progress of your commissioned artwork.
Sculpture almost finished
When we have finished your art assignment and the image of stainless steel is presentable, I invite you for a final inspection. If everything is to your liking, you can take the artwork with you directly from my studio. Or I can come and place the statue with you.
If you prefer that I come and place the art assignment, you can. Then we agree on a date and fee for this.
As an artist I usually work on commission. Most of the artworks on this website are in art commissions from private individuals, companies or governments. Usually I use stainless steel 316 as a material for sculptures. But on request I can make sculptures with glass, bronze and Corten steel.
For an art assignment I like to work with stainless steel because it is a nice, sleek material, durable, strong and virtually maintenance-free. It remains beautiful even after years outside.
Whatever art assignment it is, it always leads to a unique and special work of art that is an asset to your garden, home or business.
On the website you can see what is possible with commissioned art. I carry out every art assignment myself. It is always worked on with attention and dedication. I am driven to create a qualitative and exclusive work of art.
View the examples of art commissions on this website, I would like to hear from you what appeals to you and what you like. Together with you, I will ensure that the art assignment is as good as possible to the best of my knowledge and belief
Want to know what is possible for your situation? I would like to meet you without obligation. I then listen carefully to your wishes regarding a modern and / or abstract stainless steel sculpture. I would like to make a number of sketches and designs without obligation.

Commands in the public space improve the quality of the public area. Municipalities and governments organize their own projects, art commissions often based on a vision of Art in the Public Space.
The well-known percentage scheme whereby 1 percent of the building sum was reserved for art was abolished long ago. It is remarkable that a number of municipalities are reinstating this regulation. An advisory committee with experts is often called in for art commissions. Such a committee often includes a civil servant of culture, an urban planner or architect and a local visual artist. Sometimes an existing fund has been created from which new art commissions are financed.
It is also possible that a client hires external experts to supervise new art commissions. For example, by: researching the question, formulating an assignment, making a list, approaching various visual artists, drawing up contracts, maintaining contact between artist and client, offering support with applications for permits, etc. This party can also be the first a point of contact for neighborhood initiatives, clients and artists.
Such a Commission for Visual Arts regularly initiates, supervises and realizes art commissions for new construction and renovations. An art assignment is often formulated in consultation with the users. In new construction it is useful if an amount has already been reserved in the contract price for art commissions. If necessary, the budget can be supplemented with a contribution from a municipal fund and / or incidental money via third parties.
New art commissions play an important role in the quality of public space. New art commissions question the position and meaning of art in public space: When is something art in public space? With a good policy to integrate art into the street scene, not only objects and spaces get a chance, but artists are also socially involved in the renovation of apartment buildings, squares, streets, schools, etc.
It is also important to mention that when placing art in public space, a maintenance plan (with a structural budget!) Is immediately included. So that the investment (with public funds) is managed responsibly.
These statues are made of stainless steel. By processing the stainless steel with machines such as a roller and a press brake, intriguing designs and sculptures are created.
Stainless steel can be processed in different ways, resulting in completely different effects.
Stainless steel is an incredibly tough and strong material. It is difficult to edit, but the end result (if you do it right) is incredibly beautiful!
You have stainless steel in various types and compositions. Some types of stainless steel are affected in an acid or salt environment. Stainless steel 316 remains good in almost all circumstances. That is why I only use stainless steel 316.
Yes and no. Sometimes rust traces develop on stainless steel over time. Usually these are iron particles (dust containing iron) that have ended up on the stainless steel. In the open air, in combination with rainwater, they then start to rust. In that case it is not the stainless steel itself that rusts. The iron particles can be removed with a chemical agent without affecting the stainless steel.
Iron particles are released into the air, for example, when a train is traveling over the railway tracks. Or worse: if the neighbor is going to cut iron with a grinder.
Ideally, no iron should be present at all in a workshop where stainless steel is used. If this is the case, the stainless steel object is treated with a substance that eats away possible iron particles.
