Discover how a unique abstract sculpture comes to life
Everyone is different – that’s why I create artworks that are unique. No two sculptures are the same.
An abstract artwork creates a special place in your garden, home, or business. It’s a pleasure to look at. Stainless steel is also low-maintenance and stays beautiful for years, even outdoors.
Creating an abstract sculpture takes care and attention. I aim to capture your story, ideas, and wishes in the artwork. That’s why I always start with a conversation. I’m curious to hear what you have in mind. Together we’ll explore what suits best.
After this first talk, I’ll create several small design studies for you.

Abstract sculptures – small examples
Sculpting techniques in stainless steel
The abstract sculptures are made from stainless steel. By using tools like a roller and a press brake, intriguing forms arise. Stainless steel can be treated in many different ways, each creating a unique visual effect.
Stainless steel is incredibly strong and tough. It’s not easy to work with, but if done right, the result can be exceptionally beautiful.
Abstract stainless steel sculptures
My stainless steel sculptures are welded, ground, and often polished to a mirror-like shine. This gives them an exclusive and refined appearance. Modern abstract artworks in stainless steel come in many forms and sizes – from small to monumental. They can be used indoors or outdoors, for private or professional spaces.
Abstract sculpture art
While abstract painting uses two dimensions and paint, sculpture demands more. Materials like stone and metal are heavy, solid, and three-dimensional. Whether a wall object or a freestanding sculpture – every piece lives in space.
Abstract sculpture
Some abstract sculptures begin with a figurative idea that becomes more and more abstract. Others arise purely from exploring form and spatial relationships. To me, a good abstract sculpture should spark curiosity and evoke wonder.
Abstract sculptors who inspire me
I admire the work of David Smith, Tony Cragg, Constantin Brancusi, and Henry Moore, among others.
How I design an abstract artwork on commission
Everything starts with an introduction. Over a cup of coffee or tea, I’d love to hear your thoughts and wishes. Maybe you already have a clear idea in mind – or maybe not. Either way, I’m happy to think along with you.

If there’s a connection, I’ll make a few design sketches without any obligation. These sketches are based on what we discussed during our first meeting.
About 4 to 6 weeks later, I’ll invite you to my studio to view the designs. Feel free to bring others who’d like to be involved.
Full-scale mock-up
Sometimes, at a client’s request, I create a life-size mock-up. This helps us assess whether the sculpture has the right size and proportions. You’ll also see how it looks in the actual garden or space. We can make adjustments on the spot. Only when the mock-up fully meets your expectations do I begin the final sculpture in the definitive material.
Step-by-step creation of the artwork
I prefer to work in stages. This way, I keep you well informed – by phone and with photos or videos. You’re always welcome to visit the workshop to see the progress in person.
Everything is done by agreement. I don’t work in haste, because the artwork should last and remain beautiful for many years.
When the artwork is ready
You can come and inspect the finished piece. If everything is as agreed, you can take the sculpture with you – or I can deliver and install it on site.
Installing the sculpture
If you’d like me to install the sculpture, we’ll agree on a date and discuss the installation fee in advance.
Possibilities for abstract artworks
I design unique abstract artworks in various materials. I mainly work with stainless steel, but also with glass, bronze, or corten steel on request.
Stainless steel is my favorite: it’s durable, strong, sleek, and radiant.
Whatever you choose – the result will be a unique piece. Unusual in form and material. Thanks to the versatility of metal and stainless steel, much is possible.
On this website, you’ll find several examples of past works. I make everything in-house, collaborating with skilled craftspeople I’ve worked with for years. They share my dedication to creating high-quality art.
Materials
These are the materials I most often use for abstract sculptures:
- Stainless steel 316 (INOX)
- Glass
- Bronze
- Corten steel
With these durable materials, I can create abstract forms that result in a unique and personal artwork. I use only the highest quality materials.
Would you like to meet?
I’d be happy to meet with you. In a non-binding conversation, I’ll listen to your ideas and wishes. If there’s a connection and you feel I’m the right person to create your artwork, I’ll begin working on several design proposals.
Even if you don’t yet know what your sculpture should look like, I’m happy to brainstorm with you.
