Monumental sculptures in public space
Monumental stainless steel artworks
Art enriches the environment. A monumental sculpture transforms a space into something inspiring—whether it’s a company garden, public square or private estate. I create monumental art on commission, both for public space and private clients.
Commission a monumental stainless steel sculpture
From company anniversaries and awards to farewell gifts and public installations—an art commission can take many forms. I design unique stainless steel sculptures for businesses, institutions and municipalities. Small series are possible, but most pieces are one of a kind.
How a commissioned artwork comes to life
From story to stainless steel sculpture
Each commission starts with a conversation. I want to hear your ideas, your story, your wishes. Based on that, I create sketches and small models—non-binding—to see what resonates. If we feel a match, I work these out into a full-size design.
Mockups and materials
A full-size mockup helps us test scale and proportion. We can place it temporarily in your garden or site to see how it interacts with its surroundings. Only after this phase do I begin crafting the actual piece in stainless steel—sometimes combined with corten steel, glass or stone.
Step-by-step process
Throughout the process, you’ll receive regular updates with photos or videos. You’re also welcome to visit my studio to see the progress. Once the sculpture is ready, we schedule a final review together. If all is well, I’ll arrange for delivery or placement on location.
Art placement and installation
I can install the sculpture on-site, if desired. We’ll agree on a date and setup plan in advance.
Why choose stainless steel for monumental art?
Stainless steel 316 is durable, sleek and weather-resistant. Even after years in an outdoor setting, it retains its clarity and strength. It’s virtually maintenance-free, making it ideal for monumental artworks in public space.
Examples of monumental art commissions
Most of the sculptures shown on this site are commissioned artworks. These include public works, corporate gifts and private assignments. Each project is handled with care and dedication. I personally design and execute every piece.

Monumental art for municipalities
Art in public space
Art in public space improves quality of life and adds identity to the surroundings. Municipalities and organizations often commission monumental sculptures based on a public art policy or vision.
How public art commissions work
Municipalities may appoint advisory committees to oversee the process, often including urban planners, local artists, and cultural officers. Some commissions are initiated through open calls or supported by existing cultural funds.
Art policy and budgeting
Although the traditional 1%-for-art rule has been abolished in many areas, some municipalities reinstate it voluntarily. It’s wise to include a structural maintenance budget for any new monumental art in public space.
New monumental art commissions
I design exclusive sculptures—small or large—as art commissions for organizations, companies, and institutions. When integrated well, monumental art invites reflection and transforms everyday spaces into meaningful places.
Techniques for stainless steel sculpture
My monumental sculptures are made with stainless steel using machines like rollers and press brakes. This creates dynamic forms and surface effects. Despite its strength, stainless steel can be shaped in delicate and expressive ways.
About stainless steel 316
I only work with stainless steel 316, which resists corrosion even in salty or acidic environments. Occasionally, surface rust may appear due to iron particles in the air—but this can be removed without damaging the material.
