Modern contemporary stainless steel sculpture for private and public spaces
A contemporary stainless steel sculpture can be fully designed and crafted to suit your wishes. Whether it’s for your home, garden, or a public space, I create works that fit your environment and story.
Stainless steel sculptures with a modern touch
Modern abstract stainless steel sculptures feature clean lines and a friendly, inviting presence. As a result, they make a beautiful addition to any setting. Stainless steel (or INOX) offers a sleek, modern appearance. For inspiration, take a look at the examples above—each sculpture is crafted from stainless steel 316.
Interested in how a modern stainless steel sculpture is made?
Every sculpture is original and tailor-made—just like the people I work with.
Modern sculptures bring character and atmosphere to any setting: garden, home, office, or public space. What’s more, stainless steel sculptures remain visually striking for years, requiring minimal maintenance and resisting outdoor weathering.
Creating a modern sculpture is a thoughtful process. First, I listen to your ideas, stories, and preferences. Then I translate them into a contemporary stainless steel form. This begins with a conversation about your ideas, location, purpose, and your preferences regarding size, shape, and budget.
Based on our talk, I create various sketches, models, or 3D designs to shape the concept. This way, you get a clear sense of the possibilities before we move forward.
Working with stainless steel
Modern stainless steel sculptures can be realized using advanced techniques. Because stainless steel allows for intricate forms, its finish can vary from mirror-polished to matte or directionless-sanded.
It’s a tough, durable material that demands skill—but when done right, the result is powerful and enduring.
Types of stainless steel
Stainless steel comes in different grades. Some types are less suitable for outdoor use. That’s why I exclusively use stainless steel 316, which resists corrosion from acid and salt. In short, it’s a higher-grade material that ensures longevity.
Contemporary stainless steel sculptures
These modern stainless steel sculptures are carefully welded, water-cut, and polished to create a refined, exclusive look. By combining mirror polish and matte surfaces, I create a striking contrast. Whether indoors or outdoors, stainless steel sculptures suit both private clients and organizations. Additionally, sizes can range from small to monumental.
Modern sculpture in three dimensions
Unlike paintings, which use two dimensions, sculpture involves three—making it a more physical, material process. Sculptors work with heavy, resistant materials like stone and metal, which requires energy and craft. Whether abstract or figurative, modern sculpture is always spatial. Even wall-mounted pieces are three-dimensional in nature.
From figurative to abstract
Many modern sculptures start with figurative ideas and evolve into abstraction. Others emerge from exploring shapes, materials, and spatial relationships. In both cases, a successful modern sculpture should spark curiosity—it should invite reflection and engagement.
Influential sculptors
I draw inspiration from renowned sculptors such as David Smith, Tony Cragg, Constantin Brancusi, and Henry Moore. Their work continues to influence my own approach.
How does a commissioned artwork work?
I create modern contemporary sculptures in stainless steel, Corten steel, glass, and occasionally bronze or natural stone. Each sculpture is unique and made in close collaboration with the client. Because I believe in personal connection, our collaboration begins with a meeting.
Over a coffee, we discuss your wishes and ideas. From there, I create several free designs or mockups based on our conversation.
Sketches and small models
If we feel there is a match, I begin sketching and building models—usually in copper, cardboard, or wood. Additionally, I may create 3D computer designs to refine the concept further.

Refining the concept
Clients often prefer one or two designs, which I can combine into a final concept. This step helps make the artwork even more personal and specific to your preferences.
Full-scale mockup
If needed, I build a full-size mockup to test dimensions and proportions. This allows us to make adjustments before I start the final piece in stainless steel.
Step-by-step creation
I build the sculpture in phases and keep you updated with photos and progress. You’re also welcome to visit my studio during the process. This way, you remain closely involved in the creation.
I prioritize quality over speed. I don’t rush or cut corners.
When your sculpture is ready
You can view the finished work in my studio. If everything meets your expectations, you may take it with you—or I can arrange delivery and installation.
Installation options
If you prefer on-site installation, we can schedule a time and agree on the terms in advance. That way, everything is clear from the beginning.
Modern sculpture – the possibilities
I enjoy working with modern materials like stainless steel, Corten steel, bronze, and glass. Of these, stainless steel is my favorite for its strength, durability, and elegant finish.
Regardless of the material, I create original, contemporary sculptures that stand out. With modern techniques and expert collaborators, we can achieve anything—from subtle to bold expressions.
